At Virginia State University, on any given day, at any given minute countless activities are taking place to ensure student-athletes are receiving a quality education in a quality environment.  The VSU Department of Athletics seeks to foster the academic accomplishments of VSU by attracting and retaining students, which will add their talent and character to the university.  Athletics play a role in improving the overall student experience at a university.

Scholarships have made the difference for many of our student-athletes and we need your help to support the next generations of student-athletes.  The Trojan Athletic Club is the principal fundraising arm of VSU Athletics.  We are asking for your support to this scholarship initiative.  Funds raised through the $1,000 Trojan Athletic Club are used to cover student-athlete scholarships.  Your donation to the Trojan Athletic Club supports more than 350 student-athletes.  Student-athletes will be given the opportunity to participate in athletics and professional development programming while achieving academic success.  Through fund-raising initiatives, the $1,000 Trojan Athletic Club Campaign is a campaign to raise $1 million to fund student-athlete scholarships here at Virginia State University. 

At Virginia State University we recognize that athletic achievement is important, but the ultimate goal is for our student-athletes to earn a degree in their chosen field of study.  Your support is vital to the success of our student-athletes.

HISTORY

The Virginia State University Athletic Boosters Club was founded in 1963, and became Virginia State University Athletic Boosters Club, Inc. after the institution gained university status in 1979. For over fifty years the Booster club has provided over one million dollars for the financial support to the university's athletic program and other special activities including.


   


GOALS

The Virginia State University Athletic Boosters Club's goal is to financially assist the athletic programs of Virginia State, encourage alum, students, student-athletes and others to support the well-being of VSU Athletics, as well as ensure that VSU Athletics remain viable and competitive in the world of intercollegiate athletics.

With the assist of the VSU Athletics Booster Club, the Trojans have remained at the forefront of academic and athletic excellence in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Division II. In 2023, Virginia State graduated 32 student-athletes in the spring and earned its seventh consecutive CIAA C.H. Williams Men's All-Sports Award, which is awarded annually to the university within the conference that boasts the top male programs. The Trojans were the 2023 CIAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Champions and the women were the runner-ups at the 2023 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Starting in the fall season of 2023, the inaugural seasons of Virginia State women's soccer, men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse kicks off.

Thanks to the efforts and generosity of the Virginia State Athletics Booster Club, the Trojans can really embody the fact that Greater Happens Here!

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

The Virginia State University Athletic Boosters Club lists five types of memberships, depending on your giving level- All American Athletic, Trojan, Trojan Silver, Trojan Gold, and Trojan Platinum.  For each level, $250 of your annual contribution is returned to the Athletic Club for its operations and the remaining amount goes to the support of athletics. The Fiscal Year is from July to June.

All American Athletic

  • Two game tickets to each home football game
  • Center seating football
  • Invitation to special athletic events

Trojan

  • 2 Season passes to each home football and one season pass to each home basketball game
  • Center seating football
  • Invitation to special Athletic events
  • Recognition on the Wall of Support
  • Parking

Trojan Silver

  • 2 Season passes to each home football and basketball game
  • Center seating football
  • Invitation to special athletic events
  • Recognition on the Wall of Support
  • Parking

Trojan Gold

  • 2 Season Passes to each home football and basketball game

  • Reserved center seating at football games
  • Invitation to special athletic events

  • 4 Season Passes to each home football and basketball game
